Bio

Dimitris is a freelance transportation professional based out of Greece who is particularly interested in using quantitative analysis, models and data to better understand complex issues and guide policy and decision making. His areas of focus are Transport Decarbonisation and Sustainability, Mobility as a Service, Accessibility, and Intelligent Transport Systems.

Dimitris previously worked for Citymapper by Via in London as a leader of the operational team, leveraging public transport data to provide solutions and new features to Citymappers consumers and partners. Prior to that he was an international civil servant with the International Transport Forum at the OECD in Paris. There he built modelling tools and worked with national and international experts on a variety of topics, mostly focusing in transport decarbonisation, sustainability, and accessibility.

Dimitris has a Diploma in Civil Engineering and Transport from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece and a PhD degree in complex transportation systems out of the MIT Portugal program from Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal and MIT in Cambridge, MA USA.
